Application of drafting standards makes huge difference in drawing quality
Quality of
drawings makes substantial difference in the execution of construction
projects. We can never ignore the fact that a low quality drawing has the
potential to ruin the entire project drastically. It is very disappointing when owners keep
thinking about receiving high-performing buildings but they are delivered with
not so high-quality buildings. The development of high as well as low quality
buildings starts right at the time of developing Construction drawings which
are generally created by a team of drafters associated to services providing companies.
Drawings
remain the most informative tools for architects and engineers at the time of
building construction, and imagine if they do not carry accurate information,
the entire dreams of developing effective buildings ends up there.
But the entire construction process can be reinforced if computer aided drafters start following the instructions, specifications and guidelines provided by the clients effectively. Apart from that they should also be very cautious about the application of right drafting standards according to country wise location of the project.
Sometimes
drafting standards are provided by the clients and computer aided drafters just
have to follow them, but there are cases when clients do not specify anything
about the application of drafting standards, then drafters have to use their
skills when it comes to choosing the drafting standards.
Application
of drafting standards is mandatory in all kinds of drawings such as
architectural drawings, structural drawings and MEP drawings. These are various organizations which look
after the formation of drafting standards which can be used in the projects
associated to different countries.
For example
if construction drawings are created for American countries then it is
important that drafting standards developed by American Institute of Steel
Construction and Canadian Institute of steel construction etc. Similarly when
construction drawings are developed for European countries drafters should be
using standards developed by British Constructional Steelwork Association and Steel
Construction Institute etc.
