An Introduction of 4D BIM Techniques

Overview
Construction scheduling in project management is about recording project benchmarks, outputs, start and end date of a predetermined building project. 4D BIM that caters to Construction Scheduling is also known as Construction sequencing. It includes project drafting and project extraction arrangement for every project management.
Construction Scheduling is vital for the construction as labor force, equipment and other related activities require effective organizing and scheduling of construction activities. It helps in knowing the time to accomplish the project and streamline the cost estimation factor for all the construction professionals.

Construction scheduling techniques of projects
Several techniques help the contractor to keep construction scheduling of the project. Aiding in project requirement assessment and overcome challenges of the project schedule.

Bar Charts: It is considered as one of the most common technique to generate construction schedules by professionals. It is known for simplicity and adaptations to various events. It is evaluated based on the list of activities such as the start date of the project, a timeline of project activities, the end date of project completion and then is plotted on project timescale. Construction Project difficulty and intention to use the schedule depict the detailing of the bar chart.

Linked Bar Chart is a variation in bar chat schedule that uses the arrow and lines to link the activities and items that specifies replacement and antecedent for every activity in the schedule. Previous activities are intersected with another to evaluate the completion of at least one activity in order to begin the next activity.
This technique proves to be resourceful as it detects the accuracy of resources to be used for a project accomplishment.  Resource aggregation is done by adding resources in the schedule and helps in estimating the work product and in estimating manpower requirement.

Critical Path Method: This technique is more complex and detailed than a bar char method. To fit in numerous activities, every construction activities are paired up with previous activities and makes sure that at least one activity is completed before the preceding one.
Preparing a list of activities and developing a network to show the logical relationship amongst various activities and complying duration of related activities, prepare schedule and timeline of every activity. Evaluating the resources is all process for Critical Path Method for Construction schedule. It aids in knowing the first date, late start, early finish and late finish of activities.

Line of Balance Scheduling technique: It is popular for planning technique for repetitive work than construction scheduling method. It helps in allocating resources required for each step or operations and making it assured that next set of activities are not delayed and timely results can be retrieved and it can best work for conditions that are ideal for this type of work.

Q Scheduling: This technique is new and gaining popularity in revealing the relationship between sequences of a job done; cost incurred with it and it is also known as quantitative scheduling technique which includes quantities to be extracted at different locations of the construction project which makes the project model closer to reality. It ensures that no two activities are linked with each other at the same location.

Conclusion
4D BIM Services is equally important for construction project no matter the size of the project. It helps in a forecast of a timeline of each activity that is linked with each other must be completed before another activity begins and it assures that is not linked with each other at same locations causing no delays and timely results.
