Check out how BIM is adopted by AEC industry

BIM has been adopted very fast by ACE professionals and no other technology has ever made such an impact on construction industry till date. There is no corner of the world wherein people are unaware of BIM and its uses in AEC industry. Be it Asia, Africa or America BIM is a talking point everywhere among construction industry professionals. Building Information Modeling has a huge capacity to safely preserve construction data related to the project in question. The entire intention of BIM users is to develop high standard 3D models which are equipped with massive or colossal information.

BIM adoption among the Architecture Engineering and Construction has monumentally increased in the last few years. Since BIM technology endorses or motivates the process of seamless construction its users are increasing day by day.

Huge surveys have been conducted by construction industry researchers to analyze the growth and adoption of BIM in construction industry.

BIM was not that much common even a few years back, in the 2007 it was used by only 17% of the Architecture Engineering and Construction firms for the execution of construction projects. However, after a few years, that is in 2009, its uses among the industry professionals increased and this figure rose up to 49%. That means by the year 2009 49% of AEC firms have started to implement BIM on the construction projects undertaken by them. BIM’s implementations further increased in the AEC industry and by the year 2012, approximately 71% of all AEC companies started to use this technology for the successful execution of building projects.

According to the reports, BIM is used largely by contractors, wherein approximately 74% of contractors implement this technology in building projects. After contractors, it is used mostly by architects, wherein 70% of architects utilize this technology for the developing high performing buildings.

A large number of AEC companies are expected to use BIM technology in their upcoming projects.

The above mentioned statistics provide enough evidence of how BIM is implemented day by day by construction professionals.
