What is the requirement of developing green buildings?

Environmental problems faced by present generation are the main reason behind the green building concept which is very new to ACE industry.  The rapid construction that is taking place in the entire world is highly accountable for the consumption of energy. Energy consumption is a major issue today, as we are slowly getting over with our energy stock.  If we keep on consuming and wasting energy than chances are that, future generations will have to suffer because of this.

A lot of water, electricity, fertile land, natural vegetation etc are getting wasted due to construction activities, which is heavily affecting our environment. So in a way construction is responsible for climate change issues and increase in earth’s temperature. If construction activities continue to grow like this we are going to face more and more natural calamities which are very dangerous for human survival.

All these issues have given shape to green buildings or sustainable buildings.  The building industry is also evolving day by day especially when it comes to making use of technology. The high technology that is used by architects and engineers is allowing them to create sustainable design for building systems.

Revit is one such software that is developed by Autodesk, which is transforming the green building concept. In other words green buildings have become reality only because of Revit’s powerful tools and features. They allow the users to develop an energy analytical model which assists in performing energy analysis for building systems. The 3D models generated by Revit can be speedily converted into analytical model. Since these models are equipped with advanced information concerning design of building systems it can be optimized to perform energy analysis.

Revit’s tool specially its ‘conceptual energy analysis tool’ is very crucial for performing energy analysis for designed buildings. Architects and engineers optimize this for making better decisions regarding building’s design. By doing energy analysis, architects come to know, which building part is responsible for consuming more energy than the rest, or what kind of material consumes more energy etc. So in this way things which are responsible for consuming more energy are eliminated from the design by making it more desirable. Hence by performing energy analysis architects can develop high quality energy efficient buildings.
